ABSTRACT

During the coronavirus pandemic, digital technology has opened up new possibilities and helped mitigate and circumvent many of the pandemic's limitations. For many countries and companies, cybersecurity has become one of the most pressing issues in modern life. Assessment of the Global Cybersecurity Index, the National Cybersecurity Index, and the complementary Digital Development Level give different results for the same countries. We provide an analysis of countries' efficiency in the context of cybersecurity. In the example of Ukraine, a detailed analysis of cybersecurity indices was conducted. The main cybersecurity vulnerabilities were identified: technical mechanisms and capabilities to combat spam, use of the cloud for cybersecurity purposes, mechanisms to protect children online, single point of contact for international coordination, and so on. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of the article is to form a theoretical and methodological mechanism for the application of anti-crisis measures for the sustainable development of the regional economy in the post-COVID environment. For this purpose, it was chosen to separately take the region as an example of the application of the proposed mechanism. The research methodology involves the use of methods for graphical modeling of the mechanisms for making and implementing managerial decisions. The popularity and convenience of the methods make it possible to effectively form the desired mechanisms. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that the world has finally moved into the post-COVID period of development. COVID-19 has not gone away, but the regional economy must move forward. As a result of the study, a theoretical and methodological version of the possibilities of applying anti-crisis measures for the sustainable development of the regional economy in the post-COVID environment was presented. The study has a number of limitations, and they relate to the lack of opportunities to apply the proposed mechanism to a larger number of regions. Further research should cover more regions and take into account not only the post-COVID conditions of sustainable development but also the Ukrainian-Russian military crisis. © 2022 WITPress. ABSTRACT

2020 witnessed significant changes in the policies, activities and the plans on the level of governments and companies as well as individuals. While the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the increasing threats and weaknesses, it allowed for new opportunities. New proper measures must be taken to increase cybersecurity, especially that impact of the pandemic is going to have long-term ripples and effects. In this article, the structure of indicators included in the calculation of the National Cyber Security Index is studied and the distribution of the National Cyber Security Index across income groups analysed. In addition to that, the assessment of the efficiency of using resources to ensure national cybersecurity and studies of the impact of COVID-19 on the level of national cybersecurity displayed. Finally, recommendations are giving to improve cybersecurity during and after a pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Food security policy is contentiously one of the most critical problems of mankind. It is also approved for sustainable development as the number two goal. The COVID-19 pandemic also confirmed the urgency of the issue and highlighted weaknesses in food security in various countries. The paper summarizes the main theoretical data on the methodology of calculation of the Global Food Security Index, presents the results of comparative analysis according to its data for 2012 to 2019 for the country for Asia and Pacific and Europe. The generalization of indicators included in the calculation of the Global Food Security Index allowed identifying the main weaknesses of the food security system by the country for Asia and Pacific and Europe. Also using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), an assessment of the use of countries' resources to ensure food security was conducted. Expenditure on food security is more efficient, mainly in low-income countries. Food security policy in highly developed and developing countries is based on different approaches, which confirms the results of the assessment of resource efficiency.
